The Verve Reunite

The Verve are set to reunite for a winter tour.The original band of Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe,Simon Jones and Pete Sailsbury have got together for the first time in almost a decade.

In a statement, the band have announced they were: "Getting back together for the joy of the music." It is believed they will take a summer break and then return to the studio to complete their next album.

The band broke up in 1999, with the tumultuous relationship between Ashcroft and McCabe being well documented with the two exiting the band repeatedly since they began in 1993.

London Roundhouse (8,9)

Tickets are set to go on sale on July 6.

Oasis to start recording new album

Oasis are to start work on their seventh studio album on July 3.

Guitarist Noel Gallagher has named the date when the band will be recording a follow-up to 2005's 'Don't Believe The Truth'.

"The songs are written... but don't hold your breath because the last album took three-and-half-years and three goes," he told BBC News. "It would be great if it was done by the end of the year and we could get out on the road by next summer, but that's insane wishful thinking."

Previously the guitarist has told that this album will be more experimental than Oasis' more recent efforts."For the next record I really fancy doing, you know, a record where we just completely throw the kitchen sink at it," Gallagher declared. "We haven't done that since 'Be Here Now' (in 1997)... get like a 100 piece orchestra and choirs and all that.

"I think since 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants' (2000) we've been trying to prove a point of just bass, drums, guitar and vocals and nothing fancy. But I kind of fancy, like, making an absolutely fucking colossal album. You know? Like literally two orchestras, stuff like that."

Athlete reveal new album details

Athlete have confirmed the release of their new album 'Beyond The Neighbourhood'.
The follow-up to 2005's 'Tourist' will be released in September. To support the release, the band will hit the road in October for a UK tour. The tour follows a three-date residency at London KOKO in July. Tickets go on sale on May 15 at 9am.

Oasis to appear at Glastonbury

The Oasis documentary 'Lord Don't Slow Me Dow n' will receive its first public airing at this year's Glastonbury Festival.The film will be screened at 2am on the Sunday (June 24) of the bash on a giant cinema screen.
'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' was directed by Baillie Walsh and follows the legendary band on their 2005/6 'Don't Believe The Truth' tour. The film includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage as the band embarked on an extensive world tour.

The film will be released on DVD later this year.

Foo Fighters reveal anniversary album tracklisting

The Foo Fighters have announced that in celebration of the 10th anniversary of their sophomore album, 'The Colour And The Shape', they are re-releasing it with six bonus tracks.In addition to the 13 songs featured on the original album, the anniversary edition will contain a selection of rare B-sides and covers. It will also include new liner notes.

Original producer Gil Norton took a break from working on the Foo Fighters' forthcoming album to remaster the tracks on 'The Colour and The Shape', which is due out June 25 in the UK and July 10 in the US.
